Simplicity Of Stone Based Wash Days
Every home needs to have safe and reliable plumbing. In the really olden days – a few years before even I was born . . . . families of course did not have running water and flush toilets. Everything was set at the most basic levels and any new idea was greeted with suspicion before final acceptance. The washing was down down at the river or water hole – none of your fancy all singing, all dancing washing products. Who’d have imagines years ago in relatively modern era that we’d be choosing between powders that care for dark fabrics and those that are light and smell of this perfume or that. And the choice of fabric conditioners – it’s bewildering when you go along the aisles at the supermarket. In the very old days, they just jused large stones to pummel the dirt out of the wet fabric and then after rinsiing the garments / covers would be hung over nearby boulders or buses to dry in the air. Simples.
